State House has clarified on Media reports that President Museveni did not give an official burial for the departed former Minister, Hon. Frances Kuka.
According to one of Uganda’s leading Newspaper, Kuka who passed on at Nakasero Hospital on 23rd September, 2025 was quietly laid to rest after the family allegedly waited for State House communication in vain.
However, in a statement released today 30th September, 2025, the President’s Press Assistant, Faruk Kirunda, the late Hon. Frances Kuka was granted an official burial by H.E President Museveni including a gun salute.
“The President had directed the National Organising Committee (NOC) to handle the arrangements but Hon. Kuka’s daughter insisted on taking charge and was, accordingly, facilitated with money to do so, and the records to that effect are available,” says Kirunda.
Kuka a former Minister of State for Gender and Culture was also known for her fight against Female Genital Mutilation in her home area, Sebei.
