After a protracted war between Fly Express Travellers Association and Entebbe Stages Conductors and Drivers Association, the two groups have finally agreed to work together but not under one leadership.
The two warring groups agreed to remain with their respective leaders but allowed all taxi drivers to load passengers in both Kitoro Taxi Park and Entebbe Bus Park.
However, Peter Kagwa, the chairperson of Entebbe Fly Express Travellers Association warned drivers with old and dirty taxis that they won’t be allowed to access Entebbe Bus Park.
The reconciliation meeting held on October 3, 2025, was jointly chaired by Wakiso RDC, Justine Mbabazi and the Presidential advisor on agribusiness -Hillary Musoke alias Kisanja.
However, since agreeing to working together, taxi drivers operating with Fly Express have never stepped in Kitoro taxi park to load passengers implying that the war still rages between the two rival groups.
A few months ago, rowdy drivers from Kitoro Taxi Park led by their chairperson Chief Abiola Walakira descended on four taxis operating under Entebbe Fly Express Travellers Association and smashed their windscreens beyond recognition. The taxis whose windscreens were stoned included; Toyota Hiace registration number UBM 189A, UBM 765J, UBM 682U, and UBR 803M. All these taxis were smashed with stones and bricks.
Recently, Fly express boss Kagwa advised his rival taxi operators led by Chief Abiola to concentrate on their stage in Kitooro Taxi Park and leave Entebbe Bus Park for the Fly Express taxis. He vowed not to work under Hood Walakira-the Chairperson of Entebbe Stages Conductors and Drivers Association.
The Vice Chairperson of Entebbe Fly Express Travellers, Mr. Julius Muwonge, condemned the acts of their fellow taxi operators saying during the scuffle, many of fly Express taxi drivers were severely beaten and are still nursing serious wounds and bruises.
