Zimbabwe Police Kill Two South African Robbers, 2 Others in Deadly Shootout

The Zimbabwean Police has confirmed that two South African nationals are among the four robbers killed in a shootout on 3rd October, 2025 at Norton Tollgate along Harare-Bulawayo Highway.

A statement released by the Zimbabwe Republic Police dated 5th October, says it confirms, “a serious shooting incident and exchange of fire by CID Homicide detectives and armed robbery suspects in Norton on 3rd October, 2025.”

 

The shootout resulted in the death of four suspects, two of whom are South Africans while two detectives sustained serious injuries and are currently hospitalized.

 

The statement further says the Zimbabwe police received information and tracked a motorized syndicate which had come from South Africa to pounce on targets in Harare, Bulawayo and Kwekwe.

 

“As the detectives were following, the suspects fired at them resulting in a serious exchange of fire near Norton Tollgate,” reads the statement in part.

 

One of the suspects had earlier been captured on CCTV on 30th September, 2025 robbery wearing the same green Army shoes and jacket with the words, “Grey Wolf.”
