The office of the Resident District Commissioner Bukedea has this morning 7th October 2025, arrested Bukedea’s notorious conman identified as Joseph Ilaborot.
Ilaborot who’s also known as Def and a cattle businessman was arrested on grounds of defrauding money from Bukedea Sub County people using the office of the RDC.
Sam Opeto, the Bukedea District Assistant Resident Commissioner confirmed his arrest saying the accused conned an elderly woman from Okolimeri Village, claiming he was taking her daughter for Cadet training.
“This is a stark reminder of the dangers of impersonation and scams targeting vulnerable individuals,” said Opeto
Opeto added that taking advantage of ignorant people is against the law.
“Let’s spread the word: *Be cautious of strangers claiming to offer jobs or training opportunities in exchange for money*. Verify information through official channels before making any payments. If you’ve been a victim, report it to the authorities. Let’s work together to prevent further exploitation”, said Opeto.
He reiterated that the office of the President in Bukedea is committed to ensuring the safety and security of our people.
“We’ll continue to work tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice and protect our community from such scams,” he vowed.
