MBALE CITY
Two minors aged 3 and 5 years have died after drowning in a pit hole full of water at about 4:20PM, Tuesday, 14th October, 2025.
According to Rogers Taitika the Elgon region police spokesperson, the minors identified as Elisa Magosha, 3 years old, and Hope, 5 years old died in the tragic incident that occurred at Nabweya Ward, Namanyonyi Sub County, Mbale City.
Taitika says at approximately 4:20PM, a call was received by the DPC Mbale City that two juveniles had drowned in a pit full of water.
He says the police crew was dispatched to the scene, and upon arrival, it was found that the two bodies had already been retrieved by the local community, apparently dead.
He confirmed that the bodies were taken to Mbale city mortuary pending post-mortem examination.
