JUST IN! YY Coaches Driver of Bus That Caught Fire in Bukwe Remanded to Prison

The YY Coaches driver of the bus Reg. No UAV 701C that overturned and caught fire May 5, 2025, at approximately 5 PM in Makindu Village, along the Kisoga–Nyenga Road in Buikwe District has been remanded to prison.

 

According to a press statement issued by SP Michael Kananura the Community Liaison Officer/ Public Relations Officer Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety, today Monday, 27th October, 2025, Wadulo Musa, was produced before the Buikwe Chief Magistrate’s Court and subsequently remanded to Buikwe Prisons. He says Wadulo had been on the run until his recent arrest.

 

 

Wadulo has been charged with a total of 16 counts. 3 counts of causing death through reckless driving C/S 100(1) of the Traffic and Road Safety Act, Cap. 347.

 

12 counts of causing bodily injury through reckless driving C/S 100(2) of the TRSA, Cap. 347 and 1 count of causing an accident through reckless driving C/S 100(3) of the TRSA, Cap. 347.

 

 

The Scania bus traveling from Katosi to Jinja overturned and caught fire, resulting in the loss of lives and injuries to multiple passengers who were rushed to Kawolo Hospital, St. Francis Lwanga Hospital in Buikwe, & other nearby health facilities.
