The Criminal Investigations Directorate in liaison with State House Anti-Corruption Unit is investigating Eng. Isaak Saabwe on allegations of fraudulent registration of a certificate of Title for land comprised in Block 271, Plots 64; 65, 66, 942, 943 and 945, at Kitiko Birongo Mutungo Parish, Ndejje Division in Wakiso District.
His trouble follows security concerns on how he acquired a piece of land on top of Lweza hills in Ndejje Division, Wakiso district.
Following this concern, the directorate of criminal investigations wrote to Wakiso district land Board requesting the board to avail the investigating team with the certified true copies of the Land and Registration files of the disputed land to facilitate the investigations.
The Director Criminal Investigations and Anti-corruption, Fred Lumala has now assigned Detective Patrick Oromcan to request for the information regarding the disputed piece of Land.
Eng. Saabwe Speaks out on the disputed Land
In an interview with Eng. Isaak Saabwe, he explained how he got the disputed piece of land. In his explanation he says: “I bought that land in February 2016 from Grace Katerega Serwadda. Before I bought it, I first carried out due diligence to ascertain the title holder so as to avoid buying from land fraudsters.
“Having got true information about it, I paid the owner Shs.56m. I planted cassava there and I employed a caretaker to take charge of my land,” he says adding that in 2024, an unknown investor started digging marram from his piece of land on top of mining stones from there.
‘I tried to inquire from my neighbor Annete Kalembe but instead she just abused me,” he narrates
He says early this year, officials from State House Land desk summoned him to record a statement which he did.
” A few days after recording the statement, afande Martin Tayebwa and Patrick Omracan started calling me frequently ordering me to vacate the place without giving me a genuine reason.’
