PFF flag bearer for Busia Municipality MP seat, Samuel Makokha, has been charged with misprision of treason, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

Makokha who appeared jovial before the Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court today, Tuesday, December 9, 2025 was later sent to Luzira prison on remand until Tuesday, 16th December, 2025.

According to his lawyers, Bayern Turinawe and Kakuru Tumusiime, they could not apply for bail because the State Prosecution was not in court.

He is accused of knowing that four-time presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye allegedly planned to commit treason and failing to report it to the authorities.

However, his lawyers maintain that Dr Besigye, who is in detention for over a year now, has never been convicted on such a charge arguing that the charge is misconceived.
