Police in Kampala Metropolitan area has arrested seven suspected to be behind the surge in motorcycle robberies in the areas of Lungujja, Kosovo, Mutundwe, and Nakawuka Road.
According to Rachael Kawala, KMP Police Spokesperson, police in Nateete conducted a disruptive operation on 11th December 2025 which led to the recovery of two stolen motorcycles registration numbers UEW 612H and UMA 471AG and other exhibits used in the attacks.
Kawala identified the suspects as; Mwesigwa Denis, Washington Erias, Niwugu Samuel, Nasasira Derick, Medy, Mbabali, and Nsereko Sam.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspects pose as customers with the intention of robbing motorcycle riders of their bikes. The arrested individuals are currently being held at Lungujja and Wakaliga Police Stations.
She says a case of aggravated robbery has been opened against the suspects adding that investigations are ongoing.

Additionally, police at CPS are holding one Mugabi Hakim, also known as “Younger,” a well-known pickpocket operating along Luwum Street. He was arrested during a disruptive operation conducted around the Mutasa Kafeero area on 12th December 2025 at approximately 1200 hours.
