A serious road accident involving two vehicles has occurred in Budaka district leaving multiple people injured.
The crash happened on Friday, December 12, 2025, at around 5:04 am along the Mbale-Tirinyi road in Jami, Budaka district.
According to Sam Wandera, an eyewitnesses, the driver of a Toyota Premio (registration number UAT 507H) was heading towards Mbale when he suddenly crossed into the opposite lane due to fatigue and collided with a Toyota Hilux (registration number UG3100278) coming from the opposite direction.
Alfred Kyempasa, the Bukedi North region police spokesperson, says the injured victims include Brian Waima, a 39-year-old driver from Mbale city, Irene Nakazzi, a 14-year-old passenger, and William Aceda, a 48-year-old among others who have been taken to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital.
Police from Budaka station, led by AIP Topista Talunga, responded to the scene, towed the vehicles, and launched an investigation into the accident.
