A student nurse has been arrested at Budaka Health Centre IV in Budaka district for allegedly stealing government drugs.
Sabali Sadiki, a 23-year-old student nurse, was caught with nine vials of Artisunate injections, valued at 46,000 shillings, on Sunday evening, 14th December, 2025.
According to Alfred Kyempasa, the police spokesperson Bukedi North region, a vigilant watchman intercepted him as he attempted to leave the hospital premises with the stolen drugs.
He says the suspect, who had previously interned at the health centre, was detained by police, and investigations are ongoing.
Kyempasa adds that the case is pending submission to the Resident State Attorney for charges of theft.
According to police reports, 90% of inquiries have been covered, and the suspect remains in custody.
