A 38 year old resident of Budaka Town Council has found herself in hot soup after allegedly trafficking a 15 year old Congolese girl from Kyangwali Refugee Camp to Budaka where a boda boda rider later gets her pregnant.
According to ASP Kyempasa Wilfred, Police Spokesperson North Bukedi, Negesa Aisha trafficked Aleyene Gift and lived with her in Budaka Town Council. However, in the month of October, 2025, a boda boda rider, the victim only refers to as, ‘Customer’ had sexual intercourse with her, first at Budaka Town Council and later at Mugiti village, Kamonkoli Town Council resulting into a pregnancy.
Negesa not knowing what to do with the development, reports a case of Missing Person at Naboa police post vide SD REF:12/03/11/2025 on the 3rd of November, 2025.
Police swung into action following the report and recovered the victim at Gadumire village in Budaka District at the home of the defiler’s mother on 17th November, 2025. The following day, police carried out a medical examination on the girl where it was found that she was pregnant.
Kyempasa says Negesa also ran back to Kyangwali Refugee Camp and reported a case of disappearance of the same victim but she was discovered to be telling lies.
“She was then arrested and currently under detention in Kikube CPS pending transfer to Budaka police station for the case of Aggravated Trafficking in children,” says Kyempasa.
Police investigations established that the said victim is a refugee who was Trafficked from Nakivale refugee camp in Kisoro District to Kyangwali Refugee Camp in Kikube Hoima District then the Complainant now a suspect trafficked her to Budaka District where she was exploited further. The victim is currently being kept at Mbale children’s rescue home.
Kyempasa says Police is looking forward to proceeding to Kisoro to establish how the victim left Nakivale settlement camp to Kyangwali in Kikube and arrest all accomplices implicated in the crime.
By the time of filing this story, the boda boda rider defiler) and his mother who received and harbored the victim were yet to be arrested.
