A tense council sitting on Thursday, 18th December, 2025 was suspended after a heated confrontation erupted over allegations linked to the piglets’ scandal, forcing the Speaker, Dorothy Walukawu, to temporarily remove Youth Councilor Emma Bwayo, Executive Member Maina Fred, and Molokoye Alex from the session to restore order.

The suspension followed sharp exchanges between the three councilors after Bwayo raised concerns about what he described as persistent and unfair attacks on fellow councilors by the incumbent chairman, Jackson Wakweika, and members of his executive. Bwayo accused the trio of deliberately shifting blame onto councilors over the controversial piglets’ distribution.

Bwayo cited a recent burial in Mukhuyu where the chairman allegedly accused councilors of being involved in supplying piglets under the program. He rejected the claims, arguing that available evidence shows the piglets were instead taken by executive members and committee chairpersons, some of whom reportedly have pigs at their homes.

As tempers flared, the Speaker noted that the individuals involved have long-standing personal and political disagreements, often speaking ill of one another. She said the suspensions were necessary to maintain decorum and allow council business to proceed.

Assistant Resident District Commissioner, Rogers Wolyama later cautioned council members against turning council proceedings into platforms for personal attacks.

With political activities underway, he urged leaders and candidates to focus on issue-based engagement and warned that malicious propaganda could amount to criminal and illegal conduct.
