The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party Chairperson of Aligoi Sub County in Bukedea district has died after a mob attack.
Samson Wamimbi 45 years, was attacked on 4th, Feb 2026 by alleged supporters of sub county chairperson independent aspirant, Ben Ecaat.
According to information, the deceased was rushed to Mt. Elgon hospital after the attack before he was referred to Kampala hospital.
George William Atum, the NRM vice chairperson confirmed this saying, the deceased died on their way to Kampala hospital.
“It’s sad that we have lost him and he died when we were on our way to Kampala hospital, his head was beaten badly”, said Mr. Atum.
Mr. Atum added that the body of the deceased is currently at Kampala Hospital pending postmortem.
“We are still in Kampala waiting for the doctors to conduct postmortem”, he added that the attackers are at large.
Mr. Robert Khaukha, the father to the late revealed that his son has died forcefully without undergoing any illness.
“My son has been killed mysteriously without any sickness, I plead for justice”, said Mr Khaukha
However, the late has left 15 children
Johnson Emong Otinga, the NRM party publicity Bukedea said the late has been a good mobilizer for the NRM party, loyal and committed.
“Wamimbi has been an NRM party cadre since his childhood, now he has gone and he has left a big gap in the house of the NRM party, my appeal let the attackers be brought to book”, said Mr. Otinga.
