Pamela Tumwebaze, the Dean of Students at Uganda Christian University, has been murdered by thugs at her home in Mukono in the wee hours of Wednesday night, 11th February, 2026.
Tumwebaze was last seen addressing students on Tuesday during a community worship service held at Nkoyoyo Hall, where she was the keynote speaker. In her address, she spoke about building healthy relationships among students.
Tumwebaze, died after unknown assailants broke into her Mukono home late the night before, assaulted her, and fled.
The 2003 UCU alumna, who rose through roles to lead student affairs just three months ago, leaves her husband Alexander Matsiko and two young sons; she was known for her open-door counseling on welfare, discipline, and faith.
Police are investigating a possible robbery with no arrests yet, as students and staff remember her as a kind problem-solver and call for justice.
The University Management confirmed the death with a sad announcement of X.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Ms. Pamela Tumwebaze, the Director of Student Affairs, and member of the Uganda Christian University Senior Management.
She went to be with the LORD in the early hours of Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Please uphold her children, immediate family and loved ones in prayer,” reads the University statement.
