BUDAKA: 50 Year Old Woman Steals 3 Months Old Baby to Dupe Desperate Lover, Arrested

A 50-year-old woman Nagudi Jalia, alias Nangobi Resty has been arrested in Budaka District for allegedly stealing a 3-month-old baby boy.

 

The suspect was apprehended on Tuesday, 24th February, 2026 at her home in Nansanga B Village, Nansanga Parish, Nansanga Sub County in Budaka District, after community members reported her to authorities.

 

According to Wilfred Kyempasa, the Bukedi North region police spokesperson, police investigations revealed that Nangobi had picked up the baby from his grandmother’s home in Buloba Central Village, Wakisi Sub County in Buikwe District t and presented him to her lover, a one, Mwayi Isima as his biological son.

 

He says the baby, identified as Muhamad Kirabira, (a name given to him by Nagudi) is in the custody of a Good Samaritan, and police are searching for his biological parents.

 

Nagudi who is not the baby’s mother, has been charged with child stealing under Budaka Police Station CRB. 088/2026, and police are seeking to conduct a DNA test to confirm the baby’s parentage.

Kyempasa reveals that the boy was abandoned by his mother who opted to go for Kyeyo leaving the infant under the care of his grandmother, identified as Nyapendi Joyce.
