Youths in Bugisu Sub region have been urged to embrace vocational training and work with Integrity.

This advice was given today Friday afternoon, 27th February, 2026 by Phillip Woniala, the Manager of Bugisu Presidential Industrial Hub-Mbale while passing out 239 trainees who have completed six months training in seven courses of Tailoring, Hairdressing, Shoe making, Bakery, Carpentry, Welding and Building.

Woniala revealed that there is little interest in vocational/technical training/education yet technical training and work is well paying in creating self-employment and even being employed globally.

He is therefore calling on youths and parents to embrace vocational training and also urged those trained in technical skills to work creatively and honesty in order to prosper. Those who passed out are going home tomorrow morning.

In a related development, Woniala revealed that recruitment of youths to join Bugisu Zonal Presidential Industrial Hub-Mbale is ongoing in all districts of Bugisu.

He empathized that the program takes interested youths between 18-35 years and everything is free right from recruitment and the six months training.
