KAMPALA: Police Recovers 10 Stolen Motorcycles, Arrests 3 Suspects

KAMPALA

 

Police in Wakiso have arrested three suspects in connection with a spate of motorcycle robberies and recovered 10 suspected stolen motorcycles during an intelligence-led operation.

 

According to SP Rachael Kawala, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, the intelligence led operation arose from an incident that occurred on 13/02/2026.

 

She says that at about 10:00PM, a one Ssesanga Equiam reported a case of aggravated robbery involving his motorcycle, registration UMA 191 DV (Bajaj Boxer).

 

The attackers, allegedly armed with pangas, forcefully robbed him of the motorcycle.

 

According to her statement issued today, Friday, February 27, 2026, the suspects were arrested from Old Kampala, Bukesa–Nankulabye, where 10 suspected stolen motorcycles were also recovered.

 

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to involvement in Motorcycle robberies, Highway phone snatching, House breaking, Theft and related criminal activities.

 

The recovered motorcycles include: UDH 516H, UGB 248V, UEV 046C, UDH 746H, UDK 657F, and UDN 001C. The other four Bajaj motorcycles had no number plates.
