NAMISINDWA
Three councilors in Namisindwa District have expressed interest in contesting for the position of Speaker in the upcoming council meeting.
The candidates are Moses Waburoko, councilor for Tsekululu Sub-County; Charles Nasimolo, councilor representing the elderly; and Ivan Tsebeni, councilor for Bupoto Sub-County.
In an exclusive interview on Friday, 27th February, 2026, Waburoko said he aims to unite the councilors, who were disunited in the previous council, stating that disunity hinders service delivery to their constituents.
He urged his fellow Councilors to back him as a way of bringing unity among Councilors and pushing Namisindwa ahead.
Emma Bwayo, the elected Namisindwa District LCV chairperson, urges councilors to vote for a candidate of their own choice who will effectively manage to run council business.
The incumbent speaker is not participating in the race, citing her focus on national politics.
