A Kampala City based online journalist has been arraigned before the Makerere LDC Court on charges of Broadcasting fake news contrary to regulation 110 (e) of Uganda Communications Commission.
41 year old Arnold Anthony Musoke appeared before the LDC Chief Magistrate today, Wednesday, April 1, 2026 his file having been sanctioned on Tuesday, 31st March, 2026.
According to the Charge Sheet seen by this Publication, Musoke who is a resident of Upper Konge Zone, Makindye Division committed the offence between March, 26th and 29th March, 2026 when he reported the fake death of First Lady, Mama Janet Kataha Museveni on his Alternative Digitalk Channel.
The State avers that the broadcast sent distress signals contrary to section 82 of the Uganda Communications Act CAP 103.
The alleged incidents occurred between March 26 and 29, 2026. Musoke who pleaded not guilty was remanded until April 14, 2026.
