The Kiboga Grade One Magistrate Jonard Tusasirwe on Tuesday March 31,2026, remanded Moses Anguyo, a prison warder attached to Kiboga Prison over shooting four people dead in February. The embattled prison officer alongside three others appeared before Kiboga  Grade one Magistrate Jonard Tusasirwe .

Anguyo who was recently arrested in Aru Town in DR Congo where he had fled after allegedly committing four murder cases  was jointly charged alongside three others who include Peter Anziku alias Dickson Okuonzu, and Hellen Anviko.

Court heard that on February 23,2026, at Kiboga Government Prison, with malice aforethought, the accused prison officer unlawfully caused the death of ASP Catharine Hope, PO1 Bright Akishuri, Sarah Ayebare, and Salson Niwagaba. However on count five, Anguyo was charged with aggravated robbery.

On Count six, of aggravated robbery, prosecution further alleged that, Anguyo robbed a pair of jean trousers from Grace Katusiime and shot her after the robbery, thereafter robbed an Arsenal jersey from Mary Nabayiga and used a deadly weapon against her.

Prosecution further told court that Anguyo threatened violence against SP Ivan Niwagaba, by threatening to injure or kill him.

His co-accused were charged separately with a lesser offence of being an accessory to crime.

Prosecution alleges that the trio being relatives of Anguyo, allegedly coordinated and assisted him to escape from being charged with murder to the prejudice of all those he allegedly shot dead.

The Magistrate remanded the accused persons  to Kitalya and Luzira prison to enjoy free accommodation and government meals till April 24, 2026 when they return to court for mention of their cases.
