A tragic road accident at Lwego along Masaka Mbarara highway has left 11 people dead.
According to preliminary information, the fatal accident involving a box body and a bus UAL 492H belonging to Kasaba Bus Company occurred at about 2:00AM Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
Reports indicate that 8 people died on the spot while 3 others passed on at Lyantonde Hospital where the injured were rushed to.

The bus was en route from Rukungiri to Kampala.
Police attribute the crash to speeding, noting the Box Body driver lost control while dodging an oncoming truck.
According to a first responder at the scene, a number of the injured passengers were admitted at Lyatonde General Hospital for treatment.
