A Private Security Guard and another suspect have been arrested by the Nateete Police for staging an illegal roadblock to rob boda boda passengers.
Engulu William, a 37-year-old private guard, and Mutabazi Paul, aged 21, a resident of Kabaawo Zone were arrested on Friday, 10th April, 2026 at the scene where thy had staged the illegal roadblock.
According to SP Rachael Kawala, the KMP Police Spokesperson, on 10th April 2026 at about 1:00 a.m, three men armed with pangas and sticks allegedly set up an illegal roadblock at Kweeba Zone, Mutundwe Parish, Rubaga Division.
The suspects reportedly intercepted a boda boda rider carrying two passengers, ordered them to lie down, and began demanding money from them.
Fortunately, Police officers on patrol responded swiftly, intercepted the suspects, and arrested two of them, while one managed to flee the scene.
Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspect and any accomplices as investigations continue.
