Police at Nateete have recovered two suspected stolen cattle following a swift and coordinated response.
On 29th April 2026 at approximately 4:00AM, Police received intelligence regarding a motor vehicle reportedly transporting suspected stolen cattle. Officers immediately acted on the tip-off and intercepted motor vehicle registration number UAS 521W, a silver Toyota X-Trail, in Busega opposite the main market.
According to SP Rachael Kawala, the KMP Police Spokesperson, when officers intercepted the vehicle, the occupants abandoned it and fled the scene adding that a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of two live cows believed to have been stolen.
The motor vehicle has since been impounded and is currently parked at Nateete Police Station as investigations continue. A case of being in possession of suspected stolen cattle has been registered to facilitate further inquiries, meanwhile, efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects.
