TORORO: URA Official Knocks Colleague at Workplace to Death in Fatal Motor Accident

A Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) official has knocked to death a colleague at their workplace in Tororo Municipality.

 

The fatal accident occurred on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at around 11:00AM at the URA Service Center in Tororo Municipality, claiming the life of 32-year-old Sarah Nambozo, a cleaner at the center.

 

According to Moses Mugwe, the Bukedi South Regional Police Spokesperson, the driver, Janervive Inapat, 50, a URA official, allegedly drove carelessly in a Subaru Forester (UA 754DC), knocking Nambozo  who was cleaning the veranda at Tororo URA offices.

 

Mugwe attributes the accident to careless driving by the driver.

 

He says the body of the deceased has been taken to Tororo hospital mortuary pending post-mortem while the vehicle has been towed to Tororo police yard for inspection.

 

Police are appealing to motorists to exercise due care to avoid accidents and condoles with the bereaved family.
