Three suspects were arrested and detained at Iganga police station on Wednesday 6th May 2026 for allegedly impersonating Natasha Museveni Karugire and Hajji Hamis Kigundu.
They suspects are Mugoya Hassan 27, a business man, Kyakatuka Ashiraf 22, a business man, and Isanga Asuman 20 a boda rider all residents of Nampirika ‘A’ Village, Bukaye Parish, Nakalama Sub- County in Iganga district.
According to Busoga East Regional Police spokesperson ASP Kasadha Micheal, on Tuesday 5th May 2026 at around 1100am a team of police officers from Kiwatule Police Station together with those from Iganga CPS made a joint operation, following a report of personation of Hajji Hamisi Kigundu at Kiwatule Police Station.
Prior to the operation, a surveillance team has been on ground to monitor and identify the target point before carrying out the operation at 2300 hours.
The suspects were arrested from Nampirika A village, Bukaye Parish, Nakalama Sub-County in Iganga District. Upon arrest, search and interrogation, it was established that the suspects were using TikTok accounts with identities of various people.
Mugoya Hassan was in possession of a mobile phone Samsung A06 with two active TikTok accounts namely “Natasha Karugire” and The first daughter Natasha mus”.
Kyakatuka Ashiraf also possessed a Samsung mobile phone which he used to create active TikTok accounts namely “janet. kataha.muse5″,”natashakar7″,”first. daughter767” and “ssenga. naisanga.04”.
Isanga Asuman had in his possession a Samsung mobile phone S10 which he used to create a TikTok account, he named ‘NATASHA.K MUSEVENI SOUL.’
ASP Kasadha said the suspects shall be transported to Kampala for prosecution.
As can be recalled, early this year, on the 3rd February 2026, a team of operatives from Defense Intelligence Security arrested several impersonators of Natasha Karugire Museveni, and they have since been arraigned. Further investigations are ongoing to have more suspects arrested.
