Six Subaru Car Drivers have been arrested after they were identified over-speeding and overtaking each other along the Masaka Highway at Kingo and Kadugala.
According to the Spokesperson of Road Safety and Traffic Police, SP Michael Kananura, the six were arrested on Sunday, 10th May, 2026 as they were heading to Kampala from Mbarara and are currently being held at Masaka CPS.

Kananura says the drivers were reported by concerned road users and later identified through CCTV footage captured at Kyabakuza, Kijabwemi Roundabout, Nsenene Stage, and the Masaka Welcome Roundabout.

“They were allegedly seen overtaking dangerously and competing against one another on the road, actions that exposed other motorists to potential crashes,” says Kananura.

The suspects were later intercepted at the Kadugala checkpoint and are currently detained pending court proceedings expected today, Monday, 11th May, 2026.
Kananura urges Motorists to observe responsible driving to protect lives and promote road safety.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness says the guys started their recklessness from Mbarara and nearly knocked his small vehicle in Biharwe adding that Subaru drivers really need to be controlled.
