Hon. Shyam Jay Tanna, the new Member of Parliament representing Tororo municipality has pledged to empower youths in the Municipality through job creation.
He revealed this today Friday, 15th May, 2026 while speaking to the media at Parliament shortly after he took oath of office.
Tanna says whereas Tororo Municipality is blessed with minerals, locals and especially the youths are not benefitting yet they are the majority.
He says that he is going to make sure that younger people benefit from these minerals through employment opportunities.
The MP also pledged to improve the health sector by lobbying for the upgrading of Tororo hospital to referral hospital.
Other candidates who were sworn in today are; Shafiga Wanyenya of Bungokho South, and Nangoli Umaru of Northern City Division.
