KIKUUBE
NRM’s Paddy Kisembo was on 18th June 2026 declared the LC5 Chairperson-elect for Kikuube District chairperson by-election by Returning Officer Emmanuel Twine.
Kisembo garnered 26,612 votes, defeating his closest challenger of opposition NUP, Fenekansi Timanyire, with 8,712 votes.
The by-election recorded 35,324 valid votes. A total of 887 ballot papers were rejected as invalid, bringing the total number of ballots counted to 36,211. Another 74 ballot papers were recorded as spoilt.
Kisembo secured 75.3 percent of the valid votes cast, leading to his landslide win.
Despite the low turnout, the Electoral Commission confirmed that results were successfully received from all 330 polling stations, representing a 100 percent return rate.
The by-election follows the death of former district chairperson, Peter Banura Araali in a road accident on 4th April,2026.
