Bududa District Local Government has received fresh petitions challenging the Parish Development Model (PDM) SACCO leadership elections in nine parishes, but insists the exercise will close on, 30th June 2026 with no extensions.
In a public update issued Sunday, 22nd June 2026, the Office of the LCV Chairperson said the new petitions were filed by Bunamee parish SACCO in Bumasheti parish Sub-county, Buwakiyu parish in Nalwanza, Bunawatsi and Bunamutunyi parish in Bududa Sub-county, Namakukye and Bulatsi parish in Bufuma , Bukibokolo parish in Bumasheti, Namee parish in Bukalasi, and Namamuka parish in Bushiyi Sub-county.
The district has directed all Parish Chiefs and Vetting Committee Chairpersons to stick to the set timelines and ensure the process remains transparent, credible, fair and inclusive.
The District Commercial Officer, Fred Musabi also warned stakeholders against dragging political affiliations and partisan interests into PDM, saying the programme is meant to benefit all eligible citizens without discrimination.
Geoffrey Natubu, the LCV chairperson of Bududa district urged residents to turn up in large numbers to vote and ensure all positions on the PDM SACCO leadership structures are filled.
The update was issued after a meeting attended by District Commercial Officer Mr. Musabi and the newly deployed Operation Wealth Creation Officer, Col. (Rtd) George Situma Nambafu.
