MBALE CITY
Mbale City is set to construct a modern abattoir under USMID in the new financial year 2026/2027.
According to Mbale City Deputy Town Clerk, Jolly Hasoho, funds will soon be released for construction to begin.
She said the abattoir will be constructed in the Industrial City Division, where the current one is located.
The Deputy Town Clerk also said the design is already complete, adding that the modern abattoir will be a storeyed building with water, electricity, a meat inspection area, a section for washing offal, and a disinfection area.
She urged the public to welcome the project so that development in the city can flourish.
