Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), has told the parliamentary committee on physical infrastructure that the authority demands over Shs233 billion from government and Uganda Airlines for services offered at the airport.
This was revealed by Hassan Musinguzi, the Director Finance at Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) while appearing before the Parliamentary Committee on Physical Infrastructure chaired by Mbarara City South MP Mwiine Mpaka on July 16, 2026.
Musinguzi informed legislators that the debt arose from the rental space taken up by the UN, parking fees for Uganda Airlines and airport passenger service fees, among others.
He said Shs91.6 billion out of the 233 billion debt is being demanded from the central government while the rest of arrears are for the Uganda Airlines.
He further assured legislators that the authority will continue to mount pressure on government, through the Ministry of Works and Transport to have the debt cleared.
“We shall continue lobbying government through the Ministry of Works and Transport to have this debt cleared,” Musinguzi assured the committee.
