The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for Mitooma district in Western Uganda has interdicted eight senior local district officials following the ‘Expose the Corrupt’ campaign led by Local Government Minister, Balaam Baruhagara Ateenyi.
In a letter addressed to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government dated 8th August, 2026, Masereka Amis Asuman says he was directed by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit to interdict the affected officials.
“The purpose of this letter is therefore to communicate the above directive and submit that the staff listed above have been interdicted for six months as per the Honorable Minister’s directive,” reads Masereka’s letter.
The affected officials are; District Health Officer-Dr. Sadic Byamugisha, District Education Officer-Barungi Peace Scovia, Ag District Engineer-Eng. John Baptist Tumwebaze, and Civil Engineer-Eng. Geofrey Tumusiime.
Others are; Senior Environment Officer-Godwin Kagumire, Senior Assistant Secretary-Vicent Rugambwa, Medical Officer-Dr. Patrick Oloya and a driver-Godfrey Mugumya.
