Kisoro District chairperson Richard Ndyana and two other people narrowly survived death in a road crash along the Kabale-Kisoro road in Rubanda District.
The crash occurred on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at about 7:40pm in Hamuko Village, Karengeri Parish, Muko Sub-county.
According to Kigezi regional police spokesperson, Nelson Tumushime, the crash involved a Toyota Hilux Double Cabin pick-up belonging to Kisoro District Local Government.
The vehicle, registration number 3400392, was travelling from Kabale to Kisoro when the driver reportedly failed to negotiate a sharp corner, causing it to overturn several times.
Tumushime identified the injured as Ndyana, the Kisoro District LC5 chairperson, and two unidentified men, who sustained serious injuries.
Traffic police from Rubanda District responded to the scene and transported the injured to Kisoro Hospital for medical treatment.
Police cautioned motorists using the Kisoro-Rubanda-Kabale road to remain vigilant and observe recommended speed limits.
