Police in Bukedi North Region are hunting for a man accused of defiling his 6-year-old nephew in Butebo District.
The incident is alleged to have happened on 8th September 2026 at around 6:00 PM in Bukemero Cell, Nasenyi Parish, Kabwangasi Sub-county, vide Kabwangasi CRB 084/2026.
According to Kyempasa Wilfred PRO, Bukedi North, the matter was reported on 9th September 2026 at 9:05 AM by the victim’s mother, a 45-year-old resident of the same area.
He says it is alleged that the victim had gone to his grandmother’s home to play together with his 7-year-old brother, as their home is next to their grandmother’s home.
It is alleged that while there, the suspect, who is said to be the maternal uncle of the victim, called the victim into his room and sexually assaulted him.
The victim later went home crying and narrated the ordeal to his mother, who reported the matter to police the following day.
Police say a case file has been registered, statements have been recorded from the victim and relevant witnesses, and the victim has been issued with a Police Form 3A for medical examination.
The scene was visited and documented by a team of detectives and the Scene of Crime Officer.
The suspect is still at large and efforts to have him arrested are underway.
