Leaders of North Mbale Diocese have broken ground for the foundation of a new building which will accommodate offices, a guest house and a restaurant.

During the ground breaking on Friday, 18th September, 2026, the Bishop of North Mbale Diocese, Samuel Gidudu, said the Diocese has been lacking office space since they constructed a new church building last year.

He urged leaders from the jurisdiction of North Mbale Diocese that comprises of Bulambuli and Sironko, to support them with funds so that they can finish the building as they did with the Diocese.

Gerald Nangoli, the Member of Parliament representing Elgon North Constituency in Bulambuli District, who was the chief guest, pledged 100 bags of cement as his contribution towards the project.

Nangoli pledged to solicit more funds from his friends and colleagues so that the building can be completed.
