Angry Mob Lynches 2 Suspected Motorcycle Thieves in Budaka

Two suspected motorcycle thieves have been lynched by an angry mob in Budaka District.

 

The incident was reported to Budaka Central Police Station on Tuesday, 29th September, 2026 vide CRB 489/2026 by No. 75422 PC Waiswa Faizo, a police officer attached to Budaka Police Station.

 

Wilfred Kyempasa, PRO Bukedi North region police spokesperson say its alleged that on the fateful day at unknown time in an unknown village in Pallisa District, two unknown thieves attacked the owner of motorcycle registration number UMA 145PD, Haojue Express, by stabbing him and robbing the said motorcycle.

 

He says the boda boda community of Pallisa District got information and started chasing the two unknown men who were riding towards Budaka District. When they reached Budaka, the boda boda riders in Budaka joined the chase up to Naboa Town Council in Namajja I Zone, where the two suspected thieves were lynched to death by an angry mob near the home of one Kabedi. The motorcycle was recovered at the scene.

 

A team from Budaka CPS led by SOCO booked out on information vide CRB 489/2026.

 

Investigations have commenced vide BDK CRB 489/2026, the scene of crime was visited and documented by the District SOCO Budaka, PF48 forms issued, the exhibit motorcycle recovered, and two unidentified dead bodies of men aged between 20-25 retrieved from the scene and taken to Mbale City Mortuary for postmortem.

 

Findings indicate the motorcycle is suspected to have been robbed by the two deceased from Pallisa District, sticks were used to commit the murder by mob.
