The minister for Works and Transport, Fred Byamukama, has officially launched the return of Jambojet Airlines to Entebbe International Airport.
Jambojet aircraft touched down on 1st October, 2026 at the airport at 11 am with passengers on board from Nairobi and was welcomed with a water salute and traditional dance.
Upon arrival at the airport, Minister Byamukama and Kenya High Commissioner to Uganda exchanged national flags for both countries as a symbol of good cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Byamukama noted that the return of Jambojet.com demonstrates high level of faith that Airline operators place in Uganda.
Byamukama said the return of the airline after six years out of Uganda, signifies the strong diplomatic and economic ties between Uganda and Kenya.
Byamukama said he is optimistic that the airline will facilitate movement of soccer fans during AFCON 2027. On this note, he urged air travellers to adhere to standard operating procedures provided by Airport authorities.
The Director General Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), Fred Bamwesigye, revealed that the return of Jambojet Airlines to Uganda, makes it the 21st international Air operator at Entebbe International Airport adding that the airline will significantly contribute to the growth of passenger traffic at the airport.
The Kenya High Commissioner to Uganda, Ababu Namwamba, said the launch of Jambojet to Uganda strengthens the bilateral ties between the two countries, and lays a foundation for East African Integration. He thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for championing East African Integration as well as Africa Integration.
The Chairperson Board of Directors at Jambojet Airlines, Ayisi Makatiani, noted that the return of Jambojet to Uganda will enhance regional connectivity on top of creating markets and business opportunities in the region.
