IGANGA
The magistrate court in Iganga District has remanded a 40 year old man to Iganga Prison for allegedly defiling his 8 year old daughter in his house.
The suspect, Magino Richard, was on Thursday 8th October 2026 arraigned before Iganga Grade One Magistrate, Tibenkana Ali for mention of his case.
According to court, the suspect was accused of defiling his 8 year old daughter at their home at Igulusa village in Nakalama subcounty.
It is alleged that Magino has been staying with his daughter at home after separating with his wife some months ago.
The matter came to light last week after locals noticed that the girl had difficulties in walking.
The child whose private parts were reportedly swollen told residents that his father had defiled her multiple times in their house.
The grade 1 magistrate said the case was capital in nature and remanded Magino to Iganga prison up to 28th October this year.
