The Kampala Metropolitan police has given the latest update on the casualty status of the collapsed structure under construction at Holy City Church, Brother Ronnies Ministries, in Bwerenga, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District.
According to a statement issued today, Tuesday, October 27, 2026, by the KMP Police Spokesperson, SP Rachael Kawala, one person has been confirmed dead.
She identifies the deceased as Lukwago Francis, a builder.
“According to the latest update as of 27 October 2026, 25 adult males have been rescued from the rubble. The survivors are receiving medical treatment at Kisubi Hospital and Entebbe Grade B Hospital,” says Kawala.
Search and rescue operations remain ongoing as emergency response teams continue working to establish whether any other persons are still trapped beneath the debris.
Meanwhile, investigations into the cause of the collapse are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
