Four people have been confirmed dead after head on collision between fuel Tanker Reg No KDW154U/ZJ2266 and Gateway bus reg No UA 359AN Scania belonging to Gateway bus company
The incident happened this morning 30th, Oct 2026 Friday at Okuma along Mbale-Soroti highway.
ASP Sowanyala Obadiya, the South Kyoga Regional Traffic Officer confirmed the incident saying the deceased identities are yet to ascertained.
He said about fifteen people who boarded the gateway bus were rushed to Bukedea teaching hospital, while others were taken to Bukedea Health Center IV seeking treatment.
It’s alleged the fuel tanker driver went off the lane to the side of the bus causing the accident.
“The fuel tanker was heading to Mbale as a gateway bus was heading to Soroti side, we shall be able to give a detailed report as a day goes on”, said ASP Abadiya.
