The Entebbe Chief Magistrates Court has remanded the Entebbe Municipal Council Principal Town Clerk, Dan Fred Lutaaya alongside his two accused persons to Kigo prisons till November 11,2026, when they return to court for further hearing.
Troubled Lutaaya and his Co- accused persons who include;Enock Mpiima- the former Manyago LC1 chairperson, and Aggrey Kasaija(Land broker), were arrested on October 29, by State House Anti-corruption Unit and later on October 30,2026, were produced before Entebbe Chief Magistrates Court, that remanded them to Kigo prisons, where they’re enjoying free meals and accommodation.
According to State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SH-ACU), Lutaaya was remanded to aid investigations into an alleged fraudulent property transaction in Manyago Housing Estate, Entebbe Municipality.
Prior to appearing before Entebbe Court, Lutaaya was first detained at Entebbe police station, where he was thoroughly grilled for having an upper hand in the fraudulent sell of a house in Manyago zone, moreover without the owner’s consent. It’s reported that this transaction culminated into a loss of Shs.93 million by the innocent buyer.
Available evidence indicate that the property was presented to the buyer for sale, after which documents were processed to facilitate the transfer of interest in the property.
Later, the transaction was questioned after the person presented as the rightful owner allegedly denied having sold the property or authorised its transfer.
It’s alleged that Lutaaya issued a letter of no objection to the transfer of goodwill in the property and signed a sales agreement without the knowledge or authorisation of the Town Clerk, who is mandated to act on behalf of Entebbe Municipal Council.
Meanwhile, Lutaaya and his Co- accused persons are being investigated over their alleged involvement in the dubious transaction, as authorities continue to establish the circumstances under which the property was sold and transferred without the owner’s consent.
