A 45-year-old man is in police custody after allegedly stabbing his neighbour to death after finding him with his wife in Kyankwanzi District.

Bosco Nsengiyunva is accused of killing John Paul, popularly known as Samporo, in the early hours of October 30, 2026, at Ranch No. 1 Village in Kyankwanzi Sub-county.

According to police, Nsengiyunva allegedly discovered Paul with his wife, Mukasine Venerandi, at around 3am before picking up a knife and stabbing him in the neck.

The two men, both of Rwandan origin, were casual labourers who occupied neighbouring makeshift houses.

Paul’s naked body was later found in nearby bushland, approximately 50 metres from the scene. Police recovered a blood-stained knife suspected to have been used in the attack.

Nsengiyunva reportedly admitted to the killing during interrogation, claiming he had been severely provoked.

The incident was reported by the area LC chairman. The deceased’s body was subsequently taken to Ntwetwe Health Centre IV for a post-mortem examination.

Wamala Region Police spokesperson Lameck Kigozi confirmed the incident and urged the public to avoid extramarital affairs, warning that such disputes can result in deadly confrontations.
