Namboko Seed Secondary School, located in Namboko Sub-county, Namisindwa District, is set to receive 100 million shillings for fencing the school.
Namboko seed is one of the government schools in Namisindwa with a population of 400 students running from senior one to six.
This was revealed by Emma Bwayo, the LCV Chairperson of Namisindwa District, on Friday during the Annual General Meeting held at the school’s main hall.
During the meeting, Bwayo said that for the safety of the school, the district has allocated 100 million shillings to erect a fence, which will help prevent intruders.
He said most secondary schools like Bupoto Secondary School, located in Namisindwa Town Council, have already been fenced.
Bwayo urged parents and the school to embrace the plan so that they can protect the school, teachers and students.
Samuel Muwuli, the Headteacher of Namboko Seed School, expressed his happiness with the LCV’s pronouncement, saying the school leadership has been facing security challenges.
He said recently unknown people broke into the school computer laboratory and stole computers, adding that if the school had a fence, it would not have happened.
Elijah Madoi, the Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner, urged parents to educate their children as a way of building their future and that of the country.
During the AGM, parents unanimously passed a resolution to pay 10,000 shillings per term for PTA to run school activities like paying teachers who are not on the government payroll and doing other activities, and 90,000 shillings to every willing student for lunch.
