Double murders in a single day in Bumasobo Sub County in Bulambuli district resulting from an extra marital affair have left residents shocked and in fear.
It all started last night, 4th May, 2023 when a one Wodamba caught his uncle identified as Paulo Woniala red handed having sex with his wife. The angry Wodamba then stabbed the adulterer’s uncle in the stomach killing him instantly.
Wodamba the carried his uncles body and dumped it in a nearby bush.
However, news of the killing of Woniala quickly reached his family members.
George Masaga, an ex combatant who was pardoned by the President in 2017, and brother to Woniala, after getting the news commanded a group of youths who went and killed Wilson Kiwugulo 85 year old man, a father to Wodamba. They also killed over 100 animals, slashed crops and burnt houses of his other relatives.
Stanley Bayole, the Bulambuli Resident District Commissioner confirmed the incident and says that the two bodies are currently at Mbale regional referral hospital for post-mortem and preservation.
He says that security team visited the ground and asked Masaga to suspend the ongoing violence and find ways of solving the problem using laws than holding laws in their hands by maliciously destroying properties of people.
The RDC adds that Masaga threatened to chase away security with a panga but was later calmed down.
Bayola says that they are going to deploy UPDF soliders tomorrow Saturday until the burial of the two bodies is done to avoid further violence.
By press time no arrests had been made.
