A security guard attached to Saracen Security Company has this morning of 17th May, 2023 shot his colleague dead over yet to be established reasons.
The two were guarding a home of the Tororo cement quarry manager in Senior Quarters Village of Eastern Division in Tororo Municipality.
Moses Kedi used a pump action rifle gun to shoot his colleague John Okudi on the head under unclear circumstances killing him on the spot.
Claire Apoya Adikini, one of the neighbors while commenting on the issue said that there was no serious scuffle that erupted to the attention of the neighbors but she was shocked to hear a gun shot.
She noted that when they tried to follow up the origin of the sound, they found John Okudi lying dead in a pool of blood.
The incident happened when Robert Ejumu a guard who was supposed to work in the day shift had arrived and was preparing himself to take over duty.
When he had the gun shot, he quickly ran out from where he was dressing from and found Kedi trying to escape. He immediately intercepted and arrested him before tying him with a rope awaiting police.
Kevin Mwambu, the Saracen assistant Tororo branch manager called the incident unfortunate since he briefed the officers yesterday and during their deployment, the two moved smiling with each other without registering any quarrel.
He notes that as a company, they have always tried talking to their officers during parades and cautioned them against misuse of guns but he is shocked of the unfortunate happening arguing that they will equally open their private investigations into the matter.
Tororo District Police Commander, Adams Kimuli confirmed the incident noting that they have arrested two people including Moses Okedi and Robert Ejumu who was present during the shooting to aid investigations.
