A police constable attached to Makokoto police post, Makokoto Sub County in Kassanda District has shot himself dead after spraying his In-Charge’s room with live bullets.
According to a brief statement issued by the Wamala region Police Spokesperson, Rachael Kawala, the deceased is No.1037 PC Kitiyo Alex, a 47-year old resident of Makokoto Trading Center, and a police officer attached to Makokota Police post in Kassanda district.
Kawala says that according to preliminary investigations, Kitiyo today 24/5/2023 at about 500am at Makokota trading centre Police woke up and shot several bullets into the room of his in charge police post, Inspector of Police, John Kakooza while not saying anything.
“Then he later returned to his room sat on his bed and shot himself dead,” Kawala says in the statement.
She says, the scene of crime has been visited and documented by the police task team and that relevant statements are being recorded to guide on investigation.
