27 Year Old Bukedea Man Arrested In Wakiso Over Armed Robberies

A 27 year old man who says he comes from Bukedea district is one of the three men arrested over the weekend for allegedly robbing residents using machetes.

 

Alex Okello was arrested together with Issa Kalulu and Mathias Nsamba by UPDF officers from First Division Kakikiri barracks at Bulabakulu village, Mende Sub County, Wakiso district.

 

According to a video released by Col. Deo Akiiki, the UPDF Deputy Spokesperson, Okello is heard admitting to various allegations of robbery in fluent English.

 

Meanwhile, his co-accused, Mathias Nsamba denies being a thief and says Okello whom he has known for slightly over a week, told him he was a UPDF officer and was on leave.

 

Major Charles Kaboona, the First Division Kakikiri barracks Spokesperson told the media that the trio have been using army Uniforms to terrorize residents around Wakiso district adding that within a very short time over nine bodies have been discovered in the area.

 

He says their investigations point to the fact that the trio has been part of those robbing and killing area residents.

 

“We are still having them in our custody and we shall take them to the court martial,” Major Kaboona said.
