President William Ruto of Kenya has announced an indefinite postponement of the reopening of second term for Primary and Secondary schools in the country.
Addressing the nation on the current calamity caused by raging floods today, 3rd May, 2024, President Ruto said the weather predictions are not good revealing that the rains are expected to continue in the current intensity throughout May and probably into June.
Based on the current situation, the President announced the continued closure of the schools until the situation normalizes.
On Sunday, 28th April, 2024, the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Education, Dr. Ezekiel Machogu, postponed the schools opening date had been set for Monday, 29th April to Monday, 6th May, 2024.
Now because of the continued devastating effects of the President has ordered for indefinite postponement.
