Thousands of shortlisted applicants for Registration Assistants are shedding tears after they were turned away for lacking a Bachelors Degree.
NIRA advertised 10594 vacancies of Registration Assistants for the mass enrolment and renewal of National IDs expected to take place in June, 2024.
However, at the time of advertising the vacancies, NIRA did not come out clearly to indicate that the minimum requirement was a Bachelors Degree.
Consequently, nearly everybody who applied was shortlisted for interviews that took place on Sunday, 19th May, 2024 in Kampala.
Sources at the interview venue reveal that, NIRA was interested in applicants who have Mass Communication and Information Technology degrees.
However, NIRA says only one position required a minimum of UACE and that is the position of Registration Assistant.
Interviews were held for Relations Assistant and Field Support Admin Assistants on Sunday, 19th May, 2024 at Kololo Independence Grounds.
